About This Product
Erigon Kratoshija 2022
Premium Dry Red Wine | 100% Kratoshija (Primitivo style) | Tikveš Wine Region
Erigon Kratoshija 2022 is a profound, deeply expressive, and masterfully balanced celebration of our winemaking philosophy, crafted to elevate Macedonia’s flagship indigenous variety to world-class heights. Genetically identical to Zinfandel and Primitivo, our Kratoshija thrives in the intense warmth of our sunny terroir, capturing immense concentration, sugar, and structural density. Cellared patiently for a minimum of 12 months in select oak barrels, this bold 2022 vintage strikes an exceptional, rare balance—offering a massive, robust weight while maintaining an undeniable sense of classical, polished elegance.
In the glass, the wine commands attention with a deep, concentrated dark ruby color with intense purple reflections. The bouquet is remarkably rich, heavy, and inviting, unfolding concentrated aromas of jammy blackberry, dried dark plum, and black cherry, beautifully layered over complex notes of sweet tobacco leaf, dark cocoa, vanilla bean, and a warm touch of exotic wood spice from the oak. On the palate, this vintage is full-bodied, voluminous, and remarkably velvety. It coats the mouth with an opulent layer of ripe, muscular but smoothly rounded tannins, perfectly driven by a lively, vibrant acidity that keeps the massive fruit weight incredibly balanced and upright. The finish is exceptionally long, warming, and sophisticated. Erigon Kratoshija is a powerful, timeless monument to our ancient land.
Serving Suggestion: Best served at a temperature of 16–18°C. Decanting for at least 45 minutes before serving is highly recommended to unlock its full structural depth.
Food Pairing: A magnificent companion for rich and hearty dishes. It pairs phenomenally with slow-cooked wild boar, roasted venison, grilled ribeye or flank steaks, slow-roasted lamb shoulder with sweet spices, rich tomato-based stews, and mature, savory hard cheeses.
